Charlotte’s funeral will always be one of my most vivid memories. I wore my favorite suit with the skinny red tie that she always loved. It always seems like it rains during funerals in movies. But on this day, the sun was shining brightly over the town. Children could be found running all around. Pools were opened, burgers were on the grill and everyone seemed to be content with the way they were living. But instead of enjoying the nice weather, I was sweating my ass off, saying goodbye to the lifeless body of the only friend I’ve ever had. She had an open casket at the wake and her parents had her dressed in her least favorite dress. I almost laughed at how little they knew about her. They didn’t know who she really was. It was both funny and sad at the same time. I knew her the best out of everyone in that room, yet I was the only one who wasn’t crying.
